Well..... it is official. Our blog is no more :( The district has blocked all of the blogging website due to the nature of "outside district" blogs. In the past few weeks I have been able to "work my way" into the blog by backdoors, now I have NO access. I am working on getting this resolved or finding another blog service that is not blocked or restricted. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Mrs. Bailey for Lee Sandra
Today is Friday.
We go to the library.
We like to read books and watch movies at the library.
Rainbow club is fun today.
I was the maid of honor at the wedding.
I like the wedding and ate the little cake and blow bubbles at the wedding.
Tomorrow I get to sleep in and play at home.

Qq and Uu Wedding
Today at school, we celebrated the uniting of two letters! We began studying the letter q this week. My students quickly noticed that a "u" always follows a "q". However, they have a hard time remembering that when they are together they make one sound. They learned that "Q's and U's stick together like glue" and this is when the fun began.
Q and U met one day in Mrs. Bailey's class when the students were singing the alphabet chant. Once these two letters became inseparable they decided it was time to get married. What a better place to get married than where you met.
All the letters showed up for the event.
The boys had their "q" bow ties on and the girls wore their "u" corsages.
The groom was ready at the alter.
The music began and down came the ring bearer, the flower girl, and maid of honor.
Then, the beautiful, blushing bride.
After Q made vows to have U by his side, and U to abide by Q's side. The students made a vow that each time they saw "qu" they would pronounce it as one sound. RIngs were exchanged and celebrations followed. We had a dance, beautiful wedding cake, bubbles, and wedding rings for everyone. This was the best wedding ever!
Kindergarten is all about making memories as we learn. Q and U forever! XOXO

This week we began our unit studying Texas. I have never lived in a state that has more pride than here. The grade level decided to each make a huge bulletin board for the students about Texas. They all have purchased materials up on their boards. I decided to take a student created board, we had a BLAST. The students learned so much as we created everything together.... yes, each piece. The only purchased materials are the letters. Each student made a mosaic leaf and tissue paper bluebonnet. As table groups.... students made group projects. Armadillo, Texas Flag, Cactus (tissue paper and the best part.... tooth picks), and a mosaic sun. We created a word wall with pictures and painted texture. Way FUN. I was told that we need to also include a snake and a cowboy hat.... so that will occur tomorrow. Enjoy :)

Kindergarteners Can Blog Too?!
As a technology enthusiast, I am always looking for new ways to incorporate technology in my classroom. Given that I teach Kindergarten, I must reach deep at times to incorporate technology given my school budget. This is going to be a experiment to see if kindergartners can blog. We will be using the blog during our calendar time each day. Students will be reporting the day, weather, and special activities. Students will be using inventive and phonetic spelling, as this is the stage of writing we are using. Enjoy and feel free to see what these busy bees are up to!
